Today, I Could Be OK As A Dog

Sandy and Opie (not supposed to be on the couch) relaxing

Crap. That's what I feel like. Total crap. Oh well, it's not like I can just curl up in bed with some chocolate milk and watch Bride Wars and 27 Dresses. Nope, I am taking care of my sick baby boy and my crazy 2 year old. Now that the crap has gone around the whole house, I know that I am in for some serious cleaning. So, I brushed up on some cleaning techniques. Here are some of the books I have been reading.

THIS one is my favorite.

I guess there are some good points in dealing with all this grossness. For example, my complexion has improved from sitting in the bathroom steaming Brody. It was like having a facial 3 times a night! I guess it's good that I am going to clean the crap out of the house (literally). I haven't done it in a long time and now it is inevitable.

In this book it says this:

Sick Day:

When your child is home sick, she can spread germs around the house faster than she can down Jell-O. Keep bacteria in check-and the rest of the family well
(um, too late)- by paying extra attention to these three areas.
Bath towels: Since viruses can survive on fabric, give your sick child a towel in a different color so her siblings know not to share. Wash is as soon as she gets well. (While she's sick, old germs won't hurt her, so there's no need to wash it daily. Same goes for sheets.) Awesome... no sheets yet.
Bathtubs: Germs can get splashed around in water so don't bathe siblings together. Rubber bath toys should also be disinfected.
Whoops.....

Ok, disinfect bath toys, CHECK!

Light switches: Banish germs from switches and video-game controls using disinfecting wipes. Right, that means disinfecting Daylen's room. Wish me luck....

I will be spending the day preparing for the
DAY OF DISINFECTING (tomorrow). I am being optimistic that Brody will be feeling better and then it's on!

  1. You go get those germs, honey! And btw --Opie and Sandy look way to comfy! Maybe that's the key - get them their own dog couch for the back porch and they'll be happy to be outside.

  2. Both my kids keep passing a cold back and forth. I disinfect but it doesn't help much when my son wipes his nose on his hands! Ugh!!
Good luck with your germ warfare.

  3. Let me know if you break the cycle! If one kid gets sick at our house, we all get it! Like Susan, there is no stopping toddler/preschool germ swapping. I'd love to know if you can keep the rest of your preschoolers germ-free, if following them around constantly is worth it.

  4. Okay, I had to chuckle at the 'no bathing kids together' remark right there with the picture of your two cuties at bath time! lol!

Hope everyone is feeling better soon~

Oh, thanks for the comments about my layout. It's a basic blogger layout that I found a 3 column fix for. The fonts and colors are adjustments I made. Nothing hard, I assure you. I'm not too up-to-snuff on the html and design junk!

  5. Hey Nicole~

Thanks for stopping by! Your kids are cuties! I think that you should definitely go for the daycare. Plenty of ppl have pets. You could go either way doggie daycare or home daycare!
