"Howdy Partner"

Today we went to Costco. I have a love/hate relationship with that place. It truly amazes me how stupid and completely oblivious people can be. Eric has even less patience at Costco than I do. He just runs into them with his elbow or the cart.

Every once in a while, the kids are actually behaving and then do something that makes the trip worthwhile. Today, was one of those days.

First, let me tell you the story that started the whole thing. A month or so ago, my mom and I took the kids to Costco. We don't usually let Delaney walk, but we did this day. As we were walking through an aisle, we saw a cowboy. Delaney, dead serious, looks up at him and says, " Look Mommy, there's a partner." That cracked all of us up, including the 'partner'. Around the corner, we saw a lady with a cowboy hat on and Delaney says, " Look Mommy, there's a lady partner, howdy lady partner" and then she goes on her merry way.

Since then, we have talked about cowboys and how they are called cowboys and how they say 'howdy partner'. Eric and I were totally annoyed with the stupid people and without batting an eye, Delaney says, "oh look.... there's a partner". It's impossible not to laugh. The way she says it is hysterical. At least she can make an irritating trip a memorable shopping experience.

Yep... parents of the year.

  1. We ♥ Costco! But yes, people are idiots! And I think the only reason Jaxon is so well behaved is because of the samples.

  2. You understand, if Delaney could read, she'd bust you for saying the dreaded "bad" word, STUPID, so many times. But someday she might read your blog and then you're in trouble!
