Lucky me

This week I seem to have been reciting the same mantra over and over, "Take a deep breath, calm down". This week has been stressful. A bummer really....we had a great weekend. Sunday we went to church, came home and had bacon and eggs, took a walk to a garage sale down the street, totally scored there, worked in the yard and played out back. Nice. Monday rolls around and I have an eye opening experience. Okay really I guess it was Eric that had the 'experience', but I had some reactions to it. He called and said he was feeling weird and was talking to his boss and couldn't remember names or anything. Plus he was super dizzy and getting tunnel vision. Umm.....not something ya want to hear. I told him to come home and he did....eventually. During that .......time, my mind was racing. Of course I look the symptoms up online and they say STROKE. I was in panic mode. When I am panicking, I clean and eat. So, I cleaned out the fridge and then sat down with a bucket of ice cream to watch my new workout video. I just kept thinking, "what if something happens? This family doesn't work without him". He finally came home and I made him go to the Next Care Urgent Care (missed the memo on being able to wait at home) and 3 1/2 hours later, an EKG, blood tests, etc. we found out that it was stress related and he was super dehydrated. THANK GOD.

That got me thinking about how much he actually does. He works his butt off 5 days a week at his regular job and then does side jobs all day Saturdays and sometimes in the evening during the week. He comes home and sometimes makes dinner (I don't do the grill) or helps me with whatever is left to do. After dinner, he helps me by bathing Brody (Delaney takes a shower in my room), getting him in his jammies, and then puts him to sleep. If the dishes aren't done yet, he does those too. If that wasn't enough, he 'waits' (I say that because he usually falls asleep on the couch) up until Brody gets up the first time- that's right, still a crappy sleeper. He gets up with the kids on the weekend and lets me sleep. He makes sure the dogs have water, cleans up dog poop and takes care of our vehicles. Not to mention, he makes the money. He makes everything work. He does his best. He makes sure that we have food on the table, clothes on our back and he usually goes without. He has 4 kids, a  wife, two dogs, a house, a job and loads of stress. Oh yeah and he dances. He is Superman to me.

Other things have gone on this week that I can't really write about, but just know this, our 'new normal' is shifting again and Eric is not so okay with it. Because he always does what's best for his family, he is going along with it, but with a heavy heart.

I am so lucky to have found a man who is such a great husband and father. He would do anything for his family, regardless of the lack of support, and I admire that. I know that God has a plan and we need to follow the path that is drawn for us, but that doesn't make it easier.

I love you babe.......
