You Know You're A Mom When-sDAZE: A Glimpse

Head on over to Arizona Momma's blog and
link up to the fun par-tay!!!

My kids are close in age.... so close that my doctor told me, when I was complaining about how low Brody was, she said, "Well, yeah, you didn't give your body anytime to recover, so he found spot (that obviously hadn't gone back to normal yet) and set up camp." "Awesome", I said. They are close.... they are also at each other NON-STOP. So you know you're a mom when you see a moment like this:

I can see of glimpse of my future when they will be great friends and play mates and will quit making me want to have a beer at noon:)

ps....aren't they cute?

You Know You're a Mom WHEN-sDaze: Delaney again

Head on over to Arizona Momma's blog and
link up to the fun par-tay!!!

It's not a secret that Delaney is, um, let's say strong-willed:) I seriously get tired of arguing and she is only 2, I can only imagine what this shall become as she gets older. Anyway, I bought her a set of headbands (head banes, as she calls them). She was so excited to wear one. So when we went out to our favorite frozen yogurt place, I put one on her. She seriously looked like she was ready for Kindergarten. As we are leaving, she decides that I don't know what I am talking about and that her headbane, needs to be worn somewhat differently. I was tired of arguing, again.

She went from this:

The. whole.time.
Eric was having a heart attack- she looked ridiculous:)

You Know You're a Mom Whens-DAZE.... Sheets

Head on over to Arizona Momma's blog, Our Daze in the Desert and show her love!!!

I have to preface this with an "I'm sorry Mom, but this will probably gross you out." So here it goes. I hate laundry. That's never been a secret. I have never been good at it. I suck, in fact. There is no satisfaction in it- maybe because it's non freaking stop. What goes along with laundry? Washing stupid sheets. I truly hate doing this. Delaney's sheets are hard to put on, our bed is huge and I always put at least one thing on the wrong end, and changing crib sheets.... forget about it. So, I don't exactly do it that often. I know this grosses you out Mom...you are a weekly sheet changing kinda gal, me not so much.

You know you're a mom when..... the sheets get washes, when someone pees in em. Unfortunately that is all. the. time. right now. Delaney's diaper will leak, I won't know, she'll come into my bed around 630 am (like she does everyday) and therefore gets pee all over my sheets (Eric's side:) so now I am up to 2 sets of stupid sheets. Then when Brody man wakes up, I go in, and he has peed through his diaper onto his sheets and his beloved blanket. CRAP!!! Now I know what you are all thinking. Um...hello...overnight diapers? Yeah, check- on my list.

So you see, I guess it's a good thing that they are trashing all the sheets, cuz now they are washed pretty much every other day. Thanks kids:)

You Know You're A Mom WHENs-DAZE

I almost didn't make this one today! I couldn't think of anything fun or cute....and then IT happened. SO....to read others hilarious parenting stories head on over to my pal Arizona Momma.

Ok, bath time at our house is a ritual. Right after dinner I whisk the kiddos off to the bathroom while Eric clears off the table. I get Brody in the tub and beg Delaney to 'pee like a princess in the potty'. She usually goes, Brody will usually close the toilet seat cover on her head once ore twice and then she flushes, there is always a 'bye bye pee pee' and then she's in.

At this point, Eric comes in to play with them and then wash them. While he is doing that, I get the pajamas out, fill the cup and bottle, get blankets ready, etc. When I get back in, I take Delaney, he takes Brody.

WELL, tonight, was a bit different. I have had a raging headache and ear ache all day long and was really ready for them to go to bed. In the middle of the bath, Delaney is blowing bubbles and Brody is standing up, trying to get out. And then I hear it. PLOP. For a second I thought it was Delaney blowing bubbles and then I heard it again and then I saw it. That's right. Brody pooped in the tub. Delaney thought it was hilarious... I was trying to get them out and salvage some of the toys so I didn't have to clean ALL of them and I am screaming for Eric because Brody man is naked and on the loose.

So you see, you know you're a mom WHEN this disgusting story, makes you laugh at the end of a long day!

You Know You're a Mom....Whens-DAZE

Head on over to Arizona Momma's blog and be ready to LOVE it! This meme makes me happy:)

You know you are a mom when you have to check the clock to find out what time it is because Playhouse Disney decided to leave out Tigger and Pooh.... seriously can throw a girl.

You know you are a mom when you don't hesitate to look in the trash can or a basket for a sippy cup or missing shoe. I always find it!

You know you are a mom when your potty training child cheers for YOU when you are done going to the bathroom. I have my own cheerleader:)

You Know You're a Mom....Whens-DAZE..... Grocery Shopping.

Arizona Momma rocks! Love her blog....and love this meme. SO head on over and show her some love!

Okay, today mine is about that daunting task of grocery shopping. Now, I *used* to enjoy grocery shopping....even when I just had Delaney and was pregnant. I would make my list, cut my coupons, and head out to Fry's and Safeway. Now, 2 toddlers, sometimes 3, not so much. Turns out they don't love it. I haven't been doing coupons as much (which I really need to get back to) and I only go to Safeway now (it's the closest). But, I do get to shop at the Commissary when my mom is up for the trip out there. The problem with the commissary is we usually can only go when Eric is at work, which means...kids.

So, I load up on snacks, their cups, suckers, etc. and we head out. Here's where the meme comes in....

You know you're a mom when, you race to get the ONLY shopping cart that has the super cool rocket. Oh and I do mean race. Sometimes, it comes down to getting dropped off at the curb so that the mom that is parking, can't get to it first. We always scope it out first. If the coast looks clear, we park and then head straight to the rocket. The rocket is WAY better than the car cart. Just the fact that it is up high, right next to my hands and NOT where they can suddenly escape in the produce department and you don't notice (which has never happened to me - ha), is HUGE!!!!!!

Happy kids....the beginning of the endeavor.
(Taken in front of the cart)

And the end...yes Delaney is eating a box and Brody is pulling down a flat of cans.

So, moral of the story- don't mess with a mom and her shopping cart (and if you see me at the commissary, don't even try and beat me to the rocket)

You Know You Are a Mom WHEN-sDAZE......

Arizona Mamma started a new blog carnival last week and it's a lot of fun! To see all the details click here. Don't forget to do your own and link up on her blog!

So, you know you are a mom WHEN-sDAZE is a great time to reflect on your life with kids. Man, do I have some whoppers. Usually my blog is a time to vent, to laugh, to remember all the funny things about being a mom and that's why I love this new meme. Today's post might be a bit different. I don't want to be the bummer of the blog carnival but it's just a post I felt like doing. So here it is....

You know you are a mom WHEN..... you are heartbroken for another mother who just lost her child. I didn't know this woman, but my parents were friends with her parents. Yesterday, a driver ran a red light and hit my mom's friend's car. As a result, my mom's friend died as well as her 5 year old granddaughter. Also in the car was the little girl's mother, who was pregnant. She survived, was injured, but had a baby today! I can't even imagine what this woman is going through. She lost her mother and her daughter within 24 hours of having another baby. Her dad is with her, but my heart breaks for that family. My mom told me the news this morning and I had to stop and look at my messy house, my unpaid bills, my messy kids who were fighting and sit down. I had to think about what really matters. My kids, my family.....that's what matters.

You know you are a mom when you feel everything your kids feel and want to make it better for them. You know you are a mom when all you want to do is hug a stranger to show her that you understand how deep the love for your child is. No matter what.

God works in mysterious ways.....a cliche that we have all heard. This situation is a tough one to understand. The new grandfather asked in his email for everyone to pray for the man that hit the car. I wish I knew that kind of forgiveness and grace. I will pray for all involved......

You know you are a mom WHEN....you can't imagine NOT being one.

***Don't forget to link up and share your stories***

You Know You're a Mom....When-sDAZE

I LOVE Arizona Mamma! She is great! If you haven't read her blog- GO! Go now. I will wait...

Did ya do it?

Anyway, she started a new thing today called "You Know You're a Mom...When-sDAZE" and it's so fun.

Here I go:

You know you are a mom when you are so tired of laundry, you let the little wear diapers all day to subtract from the loads you will need to do.

You know you are a mom when you pick the boogers out of your kids nose....and then wipe them on your clothes.

You know you are a mom when you have phrases like "I'm losing my mind" thrown back in your face by a 2 year old.

You know you are a mom when you are holding your baby boy who is almost one and get teary eyed thinking about how big he is...even though it is 3 in the morning and it's the 3rd time he's been up.

Thanks for this Arizona Mamma! Can't wait 'til next week!
