And the Thunder Rolls.....

It's been two years since the Air Show, now known as Thunder and Lightening Over AZ,  was here and we were super excited. It fell on Brody's birthday weekend, which was also the weekend of the crappy weather. We decided to forgo the Air Show on the windy, cold day and decided to brave it after Brody's birthday party. My dad came with us which we love, because he knows all about the jets (he used to fly A-10s and F-16s, both of which we saw there) and Delaney loves to hear all about them.

The last time we all went to the Air Show, Delaney was NOT a fan of the Thunderbirds, so we came prepared with big ol headphones this time.
Waiting in the security line with Granddaddy.
Delaney: "Here. Do this with your foot."
So they do.
And....we're in!
Checking out the 747
Sitting in the helicoptor. She was lovin this
So did he!

The kiddos shared some Dippin' Dots and chilled for a bit in the jogger

Then my dad saw an A-10 and they all went over to check out the pilots plane. and of course, he bought a sticker:)

The weather was wonderful! Brody was tired, which I knew he would be, but I really thought he would try to make it. He didn't. Little man was passed out.

Whoa....flashback....

I dunno why, but I just love this picture. This is Delaney and Granddaddy checking out the flag that is on the F-16.
Checking out more planes
She decided that the A-10 fly bys were a bit too loud, so she put on the headphones.
And continued to wear them in the potty, while she walked, and whenever she didn't want to listen to what we were saying, she would say, "I can't hear you" and then proceed to do whatever she wanted
Trying to figure out the best place to watch the Thunderbirds, close to the exit to escape the mass exodus as soon as the show finished.
Awake, but oh so grumpy. I am pretty positive, I even put Coke in his water bottle to try and wake him up. That' s right people, Coke- judge all ya want.

We had some ice cream, looked at planes, met a Thunderbird pilot whose uniform was quite well tailored, just sayin', learned some stuff and made some memories. Next time the Thunder rolls...the kids will be 5 and and almost 7.....:( Holy smokes that's a crazy thought.

Super Bowl Sunday 2012

Everyone that knows me, knows I love me some football. Unfortunately, Da Bears did not make it to the big game, but Eric's team, the Patriots, manned up and were able to battle it out. We decided to lay low and hang out at the house this year. Danielle and Joe, plus my parents came to watch the men in the tight pants duel it out. Okay, maybe Joe and my dad did not so appreciate that part as much as I did, but ya know....
So, we got some food, got some drinks, and put on our Patriot's gear. Let me just say that I don't think I have ever worn another team's shirt. This was a first. BUT, I was so worried that Brian Urlacher is going to be slightly miffed when he reads this post that I made sure to cover my boo-tay.

Some food. My mom made her AMAZING chili for us to feast on as well.

Eric and Delaney

Pats in da house!

For Brian....

The game started and I must admit, I held my breath while Kelly Clarkson sang The Star Spangled Banner in fear that she would mess it up. Last year stressed me out big time and I did not want a repeat. Thankfully, she belted it out! Now it must be said, I am a Bears fan. Not a Patriots fan. Eric is a Pats fan and because the Bears didn't make to 'the big game' I reluctantly gave my support in way of Tom Brady and the rest of the guys. Plus, I am NOT a Giants fan. During the game, the kids stayed outside and played with my mom and my dad went out there quite a few times as well, they had a blast.
And come on, how many of you LOVED the commercials this year? The Great Dane one? The Sketcher's one? And let's be honest, ladies (and maybe some men out there), how many of you had a small gasp slip out when David Beckham was standing there in nothing but his chonies? Yep- it happened to me. I think I may even go to
H&M and buy me a pair. He was so convincing.

Nana playing with the kiddos

Sandy Kelley-Mikkelson enjoying the game too
Eric and Daddy in search of a beer- probably during the Beckham commercial.
Danielle, Joe and Eric chillaxing
We got a new TV back in December (righteous gift from someone) and it is LARGE. We were excited to watch the game on it- imagine David Beckham on that bad boy- yeah.......

Delaney and Brody really enjoyed the half time show. I gotta say- it rocked. Plus I heart LMFAO in a big bad way so when I saw them I freaked . I love that the kids were all into Madonna- they were vogue-ing right along with her.

Comfort food- mmmmmmmm
I really wanted a family picture in all our Pats gear but Brody was in a Brody mood and would not look at the camera. So here are our attempts...

We tried again after the game.....

Please look at Delaney. Classic.

SO then we had cupcakes. Not fancy ones. This is the first game in two years, that I haven't made a Super Bowl cake.

Boring cupcakes.

Here are the cakes I have made the past 2 years...

(Yes I made a Packers cake- I promise I did not enjoy it)

The rest of the game was spent yelling four letters words at the TV like all good parents and aunts and uncles do. Such a bummer the Pats lost, but now Tom Brady has to defend his hot wife to the team because of her after game comments and that sucks even more.

The boys.

Delaney posing.

And I will leave you all with an image that takes our classiness up a couple levels.....

All refrigerators should have their own mini keg. Just sayin'

Hello there! Random post #1

So I have been quite the sucky blogger lately. No real reason... just lazy, I guess. As I write this, I am watching Brody take all of the books OFF the bookshelf, stack them on the TV cabinet and then try to transfer them to the ottoman. And even better, he just brought the Jenny McCarthy book Baby Laughs and points to the baby and says, "Mo, what dat? Da bebe's butt?" I am pretty sure that he will now be obsessed with that book now. I spent the day cleaning up after the weekend, especially because Eric informed that it looked like "a bomb went off in our house" and now I am taking a break because I'' be damned that the same freakin mess that was "bomb like" this morning, is back. I give up. SO I thought I would just post some random pictures from the last month or so.....

They remodeled the park near my parent's house so we met some friends to check it out! It is awesome! I love all the shade! It is a little nerve wracking though. There is a playground for 5-12 year olds and one for little ones. Delaney wanted to play on the big one and Brody on the smaller one. It was slightly disconcerting to not have them both in my immediate sight.
Delaney on a strange stationary pogo stick thing

Sporting an awesome band aid due to a semi-serious owie.

Climbing up the huge slide.... seriously gave me heart attack.
Brody really wanted this to be a slide.
Braydon and Delaney climbing too high for my liking.

Brody talking to little Lincoln.

The kids love to ride on the hand me down quad... we only have one so this, they actually share.

We took Brody to his 2 year well check and when we left... he had turned into a little boy.

*sigh*

There is really not an explanation....

We love our friends we especially love when they call and say, "Come over for dinner, bring nothing, and we have beer and tequila." Off we went to spend the evening with Courtney, Ian, Braydon and little Charlotte.
I love that Delaney is wearing wedge, pink sandals and is playing baseball.

Pitching to Braydon

The men

Brody's favorite thing to do is find a truck, figure out how to get it on a slide,
watch it fly down and then repeat.

Eric holding baby Charlotte. Makes my uterus skip a beat. I got a little twinge. Maybe time for another:) Ha.
Seriously though, so cute.

Such good times with good friends. We are so fortunate to have them in our lives!

This is random day one.... to be continued:)
