Mickey Coffee

I just couldn't post yesterday- my day consisted of two trips to Target, plus all my normal "duties", plus I made about 35 cupcakes for a super dear friend of mine for her baby shower today. By 11:30- I was wiped and did not have the energy to even go upstairs and get my computer.

Today was a fun day! Breakfast out, a beautiful baby shower, followed by a relaxing afternoon. I was freezing near dinner time and went to look for my Chai Tea from Trader Joe's, but sadly, I was out. But, I did find a box of Nestle Hot Chocolate and got all warm inside just thinking about it. I am a hot chocolate girl! LOVE it! I realized that Delaney and Brody had never had it before, so I decided it was time! They were so excited to drink 'coffee' like Mommy and Daddy.

His mug has Mickey on it, so he kept calling it his "Mickey coffee'

Cheesy smile
Blowing on it (really just spitting)
Having a marshmallow out of his Mickey coffee
Drinking like a pro
He was hilarious to watch
The Mickey coffee- he wanted me to take a picture

So that's all. You are probably asking yourself, "Did she really just do a post on drinking hot chocolate? And she took that many pictures?" Yes folks, I did. It may be up there on the lame-o meter, but I thought it was a memorable occasion:) Maybe that's because I am kinda lame like that myself.

Snow WAY!

This past Sunday, I woke up around 7:30 (which is late for me) and quickly sat up to yell at Eric that we needed to leave in an hour for church. The kids were not awake yet and it was so quiet in the house. I looked at our sliding glass door and through the shades I said to Eric, "It's so bright outside, it looks like it snowed." Of course we both thought my comment was ridiculous so I got out of bed and turned on the shower and then I actually looked out the door and holy crap- there was about 2 inches of snow on our deck!! The kids wandered into our room and I showed them. They were so excited. We decided to forgo church and let the kids play in the snow....

This is on the other side of our wall.

So pretty!!

Our backyard...

Snow everywhere!

He was so excited! He keep pointing and saying, "SNOW"

The dogs didn't even care!

This is Sandy's baby covered!

Now she is telling me her hands are freezing and the snow is too cold.

He didn't care so much

This is Eric trying to get Brody in the house after teaching him how to throw snow balls. He was pissed!

It was so fun!! It was such a beautiful day!

Hair today, gone tomorrow

We did it. It was time. Brody man, got a hair cut (one word or two?). Anyway, I seriously loved his curls in the back. We are not quite sure where the curls came from- both of us have totally straight hair. Eric says that "Sancho" has curly hair, Brody's "real dad". So for now that's our story (wink, wink).

ANYWAYS...........( I can almost hear my daddy saying that). Brody's hair was becoming somewhat of a mullet, comb over, crazy do, plus he couldn't really see anymore, so we decided it was time. I was a little nervous. Delaney has only had one haircut in her life and that didn't go so well.
We went to Cost Cutters armed with organic suckers from Trader Joe's and a camera and documented this momentous event!

                                                  Here is the hairdo...... yeah......

Brody waiting for his haircut.

Here we go.....

"Delaney...am I okay?

"Yes Brody man, you doing great!"

ALL DONE!

Here is what we got:

He still has some curls, but he looks so grown up! He did great! The sucker was a huge help, until it got covered with hair....
Oh and Delaney made it very clear that Brody is the only one who needs to have a haircut. She said, "I don't cut my hair. I don't need a haircut, okay. I a princess and princess don't cut their hair."
Good to know....
